Thanks so much for your interest in Volunteering for the 2026 ArtsWells Festival. We could not do this work without you!
Volunteer positions require a minimum of 12 hours on shift to qualify for a free ticket. A deposit of $75.00 is taken upon arrival for your volunteer position, and reimbursed upon successful completion of your total time spent.
Volunteers are supported with free camping, and are the guests of honour at our festival wrap up party Sunday evening. The volunteer party starts immediately after the festival ends, please stick around and celebrate with us.

Bartender + Bar Ticket Seller
The Bartender+Ticket Seller will be responsible for taking drink orders throughout the festival and managing the bar. They will also sell tickets.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- 19 years or older
- Customer service/serving skills
- Ability to handle cash (mental math)
- Serving It Right certification (BC) – this is a must
- Able to lift heavy objects (beer keg)
Box Office / Information
Box office will be responsible for welcoming all patrons to the festival. They’ll ensure festival-goers have purchased the correct ticket and received their wristband. This is where festival tickets can also be purchased. Box office should be able to provide information and answer any questions festival-goers may have.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Friendly and outgoing (you’ll be interacting with a lot of people!)
- Customer service skills
- Ability to handle money and operate a Till / POS terminal
- Problem solving skills and basic math skills
Camping / Parking / Traffic
Camping/ Parking/ Traffic will be the first contact festival-goers have. They will guide patrons to the appropriate parking and camping location and provide whereabouts to other important sites, such as Box Office and water stations.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Friendly and courteous
- Punctual
- Customer service skills
- Problem solving skills
- Previous festival experience is an asset but not required
- Festival knowledge
- Able to work outdoors and on foot for entire shift
Cleaning Crew
From scrubbing toilets to sweeping dance floors and everything in between. Cleaning Crew does everything to maintain the cleanliness of the festival.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Positive attitude (!)
- Punctual
- Able to work independently
Dining Hall
Dining Hall will be responsible for preparing and presenting food quickly and efficiently on the buffet line. They will also assist with the clean up afterwards.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Able to work in a fast paced environment
- Able to follow instructions and directions
- Work independently or with a group
- Able to lift heavy objects
- Previous experience in a food establishment is an asset
Driver
Driver will be responsible for picking up artists from a designated meeting spot (airport etc) and bringing them to the festival.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Valid Class 4 Commercial Driver’s License or equivalent
- 19+
Festival Set-up
Festival set-up will be in charge of loading and unloading gear, equipment and tools, and moving it to staging areas by vehicle.
Activities could include: Assembling tents, constructing stages, setting up fences, setting up tables and chairs, helping with audio-visual equipment, hanging signage, decorating.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Ability to follow instructions
- Able to work well independently or in a group
- Problem solving skills
- Able to do manual labour
- Previous ArtsWells experience is an asset but not required
Festival Tear Down & Clean Up
Festival tear down will again, load and unload gear, equipment and tools, and move gear equipment and tools to storage areas by vehicle.
Activities could include: Taking down tents and repacking, deconstructing of stages, removing fencing, taking down tables and chairs, packing up all audio-visual equipment, removing all signage, collection of all ArtsWells related items from around the festival grounds.

- Ability to follow instructions
- Able to work well independently or in a group
- Problem solving skills
- Able to do manual labour
- Previous ArtsWells experience is an asset but not required
First Aid + Harm Reduction
First Aid + Harm Reduction will be responsible for treating injured or ill patrons (sterilizes, disinfects, anoints, and bandages minor cuts and burns), and keeping records of said incidents. In more serious cases, will be in charge of referring patrons to RCMP or EMS.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Ability to take charge in a high stress situation
- Able to be responsible in emotionally stressful situations
- Courteous and friendly
- Work well independently
- Good judgement, decision making and problem solving skills
- Confident
- Communication skills
- Experience is an asset
- Valid First Aid Certification is a must
Front of House
Front of House will act as bouncers, greeting and welcoming guest, checking wristbands and when necessary, checking IDs. Using a counter, they will also note the number of attendees stays within any given venue’s capacity. Conflict resolution may be required.

- Being aware of surroundings and people
- Capable of following instructions and can work well independently
- Good judgement, decision making and problem solving skills
- Confident
- People and communication skills
- Experience is an asset
Information and Hospitality
Information and Hospitality will be located at several locations throughout the festival, and will be responsible for greeting volunteers, performers and festival-goers. They will run occasional errands.

- Able to work well independently or in a group
- Previous ArtsWells experience is an asset but not required
Production Assistant
The production assistant will help stage and sound crews in all areas of production. They may be asked to assist with the assembly or disassembly of equipment, and the operation of light and sound equipment. The production assistant will make sure backstage areas are stocked with water and other necessities for artists and crews. They may be asked to run food or supplies to different stages. They will help to ensure the production runs smoothly and stays on time.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Prior knowledge of show production an asset
- Friendly and courteous
- Able to move quickly, carefully and lift heavy objects
- Capable of following instructions
- Can work well with others or independently
- Problem solving skills
Master of Ceremonies / Stage Host
If you love public speaking, meeting people and keeping time, this is the volunteer position for you! Leave us a little note about your experience doing this kind of work and what would make you a great MC for this year’s festival!
Roving Security / Peace Patrol
Roving Security / Peace Patrol will patrol specific areas on foot, protecting people and property, and promoting good community relations. They will resolve any conflict among festival-goers, and maintain liquor policies (no drinking outside of venue etc.) In some cases, they may have to provide first aid, or notify the First Aid crew.
