Capri Aspe spent 15 years performing in many dance styles before discovering Old Time Folk Dance in 2019.

Blown away by the excitement and power of ordinary people moving together, she dove in headfirst and has been calling Old Time dances throughout the Cariboo region ever since.

Swing your partner and take ’em home! Grab a friend and come on out for The Ultimate Social Dance Experience. The point of Barn Dance is to get a big group of people dancing together with as little instruction time as possible. We’ll learn a couple of basic moves and get dancing asap. Enjoy the same dances that people have been partying with at weddings, wakes, ceilidhs, barn raisings and more for 500+ years.

Gurdeep Pandher is a Yukon-based, Bhangra artist and educator.

He creates performance pieces that bring together people from all backgrounds while promoting inclusivity. He is also best known for bringing joy, hope and positivity during the pandemic through his online dance classes, videos and uplifting messages. Millions of viewers throughout the world watch his online dance performances and videos. Videos of Gurdeep dancing Bhangra in frigid cold temperatures at -45ºC/-49ºF, and on frozen lakes and rivers of Canada’s North gained worldwide recognition. He lives in a small cabin without running water in the wilderness of the Yukon. Many international art and media organizations, including BBC News, CBC National, The Globe and Mail, CTV National, Nature Conservancy of Canada, CAA Magazine, and NBC, have published Gurdeep’s works. Gurdeep was also named “This week’s Greatest Canadian” by Global News Radio! Gurdeep is also one of 5 panellists for the 2023 CBC Canada Reads show. Gurdeep’s Bhangra dance sessions are based on body and mind movement. They are a joyful way to introduce physical exercise and a nourishing route to a wholesome mental well-being wonderland. Ellorie McKnight is a bilingual singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist based out of Whitehorse, Yukon.

She leads her own solo project as well as plays fiddle, banjo and guitar for various folk and old time duos and bands. Ellorie’s songs are shaped by delicate vocals, ambiguous lyrics, and a nostalgic old timey-ness which invites wonder and dreaming. Ellorie released her first solo EP in 2021, titled for the heart’s sake. Her newest 6-song EP Equinox was released on May 3 2024, recorded in studio as a live show with full band.

World disco, searing techno and explosive voguing tracks are some of the flavours you can expect from DJ Hannah, one of Calgary’s most versatile selectors. 

This zeal for eclecticism was the product of a Montreal upbringing and an unending curiosity with the hidden gems of music history. Her earliest sets at house parties around Calgary were coloured with the authenticity of an old soul, drawing the attention of the community at large. Following her 2017 club debut she continued generating forward momentum, moving into the role of promoter and show runner with DIY pop-ups and branded club events. 

In 2020 Hannah launched the show “Neon Window” on university radio station CJSW 90.9 FM, examining the history of genres that gave birth to contemporary electronic music like jazz, soul, and funk. 

In recent years, DJ Hannah has become one of Calgary’s most in demand DJs, with a residency at local staple Sweet Loretta and playing shows around the country ranging from underground raves to larger festivals.

Her ability to captivate audiences across diverse mediums has upended the tech bro monotony and made DJ Hannah synonymous with memorable nights.
